Game On!

Image
Continuing my New Year's Resolutions' UFO Countdown............ "Half-Time Cowl" is finally finished, tested and ready for release! Show off your team spirit--in style!  Knit this cowl in your favorite team's colors.  Double it up and wrap yourself in the warmth of beautifully hand-dyed yarn as in this one made from Wonderland Yarns, "March Hare".   Stay loose, and wear it as one long loop... or keep it soft and simple, as in this single color version knit in Cascade Yarns Eco Duo.   No matter how you make it, "Half-Time Cowl" is a whole lot of fun to knit and is guaranteed to keep you cozy  during those chilly night games! Alchemy & Roses

Image
At long last, Alchemy & Roses shawl pattern is now available for download. This is an intermediate/advanced knitting project--and I think, well worth the extra effort! The finished piece is lightweight and feminine while the shape is very practical for a shawl in that it stays square on your shoulders and doesn't slip around like some shawls. buy now

Half-Full Moon pattern is now live! This has been a fun one to knit (in fact, I have made 3 of them so far)!  Half-Full Moon is a quick little crescent-shaped shawl which sports a pretty lace border.  It packs a whole lot of drape and color into its frame as well!  Shawl can be made up in any weight yarn which will make this an all weather favorite!   See my "Cast On" page for info. on where to find a downloadable copy of this pattern.

Upside Down / Inside Out

"Upside Down" Jack Johnson Who's to say What's impossible Well they forgot This world keeps spinning And with each new day I can feel a change in everything And as the surface breaks reflections fade But in some ways they remain the same And as my mind begins to spread its wings There's no stopping curiosity I want to turn the whole thing upside down I'll find the things they say just can't be found I'll share this love I find with everyone We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs I don't want this feeling to go away... "No Stopping Curiosity" is a new reversible hat pattern that will be out this week.  Sized to fit Children and Adults, this is a great cap that's loaded with texture--just right for showcasing hand dyed yarns.  It'll have you flipping your lid!

"Collection". A Definition.

Image
My daughter came to me the other day and told me that it was her "Sharing Day" at school next Friday and that she thought she'd share her fairy collection.  Not realizing she had a collection of fairies, I asked her how many she had.  She answered:  "Just the one, but I thought you could make me some."   "Some".......... How many is "Some"?   This is where she informs me that her teacher told her that a "Collection" meant 9 things. NINE!??! Not to worry mom, she said.  You have til next Friday. So, here is the start of her "collection"of "Garden Sprites".  Each one has her own unique personality (with the help of varying clothing and hair colors and facial features). Thankfully they knit up in a flash--so hopefully I can meet the boss' deadline! I really love my daughter ;-) Pattern is available for FREE via Ravelry and Craftsy.  See my "Cast On" page for more info...
