The Beginning, The End, and all the Glory In Between!

Here is another version of the "Terri's Turn" bracelet.  This one was knit in my favorite  green Madelinetosh Merino Light.  Add to that, a button from my favorite Button Artist,  Candace Wilson  www.oneofakindbutton.com  (you can find these gorgeous buttons locally at The Purl District).   Throw in some wonderful silver findings and charms, and I think this one is a "keeper" (i.e.  I'm keeping it)!

Spinning Yarns

Having fun playing with my new E-Spinner! What a difference from my Ashford Spinning wheel!   It does have a tendency to get away from me a bit--I will have to get my timing figured out on this beauty!   Such an amazing piece of equipment!  I was able to spin a 3-Ply, Bulky Weight skein (my first, ever!!) within about an hour and a half from pre-draft to blocking! Whew! Incredible!! The skein in the photo was created using some lovely hand-dyed merino roving , and black BFL roving. Sproingy, Soft and Sooooo colorful! It is a gift for Mary ;-)

You Asked For It! My friend Terri recently asked me what it would take to get a pattern named after her. I could have asked her to stand on her head or sing and dance "Gangnam Style" in public, but I didn't! Here is Terri's Pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/terris-turn Now Terri, aren't you glad that it's a bracelet instead of the "banana hammock" I threatened you with?

Pencils Down! Testing is complete and "Elliptical" shawl pattern is now LIVE on Ravelry:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/122896494/elliptical-knitted-shawl and on Craftsy: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/accessory/elliptical/44088 and you can find the finished piece for sale on Etsy:   https://www.etsy.com/listing/122896494/elliptical-knitted-shawl This has been a fun shawl to knit, and one of the simplest ones I have done in a long time. Great speed knitting project!  Grab a gorgeous skein of yarn (like the one my friend Becky gave me:  Madelinetosh Merino Light in "Cathedral" colorway)  This is a One-Skein project that will make very good use of that luxury skein you have had your eye on at your LYS!   Cast On!

Testing....Testing...1, 2, 3... "Elliptical"  pattern testing is nearly finished and will be available on Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy this week (look for it on Thursday, February 7th). This is a very easy pattern that incorporates an easy-to-remember stitch pattern--great for TV knitting (for all of you Downton Abbey knitters) and, when knit in a nice yarn such as Madelinetosh Merino Light (as photographed) or Zen Yarn Gardens Serenity Silk Single , you end up with a "One Skein Wonder" that has amazing color, texture and drape.   Cast On!

I just have to say that I have AMAZING friends!  My good friend, Mary gave ( GAVE) me her Fricke E-Spinner!!  But wait...there's more:  She also included two bins full of fiber!!  There just aren't enough exclamation marks to describe how I feel about this.        I didn't even have to whine, beg, or commit a felony of any kind!   Like I said:   AMAZING!

New Pattern Out this Week: "Pipefish" Hat This is a wonderful, highly-textural hat that looks great on everyone (even those of us who "don't look good in hats").  It is a great introduction to cable knitting, and works up quickly.  You can put a button on it for a little "something extra", or go without.  A warning:  You may need to plan ahead (no pun intended) with this hat---get yourself supplies to make 2, as the first one you make will most likely be stolen!  My test-knitter found this out the hard way when her husband claimed the one she was making for herself ;-) Find this Pattern Here:   On Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/122490273/pipefish-cabled-hat-knitting-pattern On Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/stores/kis-designs-designs On Craftsy: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/accessory/pipefish/43622 At The Purl District http://www.thepurldistrict.com/catalog.php?item=270
